What we store, and why
When you register we store your email address, display name, the language you speak, the village your family comes from and where you live now - these are what make the map and the name pages work. We also store what you post, and a session cookie that keeps you signed in. That cookie is strictly necessary; we set no others and we do not track you across other sites.
Legal basis
We process this data to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for spam protection and moderation, on our legitimate interest in keeping the community usable (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete the account. On deletion, your personal details are erased; posts remain in their conversations without a link to you. Rate-limiting records hold a hashed address for at most a day.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your data at any time. Export and deletion are available directly in your account settings; for anything else, write to the contact address above. You may also complain to a data protection authority.
